Dr. V's Zipline Instructions

General Zipline

-
Basics
-
The Zipline is a method for providing clsoure of the skin without sutures that need to be removed.
-
The system is strong, leaves minimal scarring, and is durable for the duration of use.
-
Note, you do have sutures under your skin. They are "buried" so that they do not need to come out and will eventually dissolve in your tissue.
-
-
Removal
-
Generally, the Zipline will stay in place for 14-18 days depending on the appearance of the wound
- You can remove the Zipline yourself if cleared by your surgeon to do so. It is not difficult. See the videos below for details
-
Most importantly with removal - Remove the Zipline from one end and pull it "in-line" with the incision by lifting both adhesive strips at the same time. See videos for example.
-
More details for the Zipline dressing can be accessed at the manufacturer website - HERE
